London Makes Lasting Impression on National Advisory Board

Each year in the fall, the National Advisory Board visits a different city in Canada to see first-hand the work of The Salvation Army. This year’s visit was to London, Ontario. Ministry Unit tours included the London Village, Correctional & Justice Services and the Centre of Hope.

Donut Day a Delicious Celebration


National Donut Day was a hit across the Ontario Great Lakes Division!

Almost 700 donuts were given out to celebrate National Donut Day in London. We would like to thank Rundle's No Frills for their generous donation in order to make this event a tremendous success.


Also, over 4,000 timbits were handed out in Owen Sound & Port Elgin. A special thanks to all the volunteers and City Police for their dedicated service to help make this day possible.

On Thursday December 22, Carl Churchill visited the Ontario Great Lakes Divisional Headquarters to present a generous gift of money towards the London Christmas Kettle Campaign.

In 2014, the Churchill Family became aware of the shortfall in revenue towards the campaign that year and decided to match the amount taken in on the last full weekend of the campaign up to $25,000. Toronto, ON November 23, 2016 – The Salvation Army has launched its 2016 Christmas Kettle Campaign. Now in its 126th year, the annual holiday campaign seeks donations from the public to help The Salvation Army assist millions of Canadians living in poverty. Bikers Ride in support of London Christmas Hamper Program


August 20, 2016

The Home Depot in east London was the site on Saturday August 20 for the 33rd annual London Toy Ride.

As many as 170 toys were collected that bikers brought in as part of their registration process. The toys were loaded up into Salvation Army vans and taken for storage at the Community and Family Services building until they will be used for the annual Christmas Hamper program.

“Salvation Army Night” at the London Majors Game


The Salvation Army of London was honoured to partner with local Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) team, the London Majors, for "Salvation Army Night" on Saturday, June 18, 2016.  Tickets were sold in advance for $8 with 50% from all sales being donated back to The Salvation Army.
