Hundreds of children from NB, PEI and NS travel to Thorburn, NS where they bunk in cabins on the banks of the Sutherland’s River.
Activities such as canoeing, swimming, hiking, archery, horseshoes, volleyball, soccer, baseball and basketball fill the days. Days end by the campfire with a sing-a-long and marshmallow roast. Scotian Glen makes memories for kids that last a lifetime in a safe and caring environment.
As a member of the Camping Association of Nova Scotia, Scotian Glen has earned the Accreditation Program’s designation which involves meeting standards in six categories: Administration; Personnel; Health; Site, Facilities and Equipment; Programming; and Accessibility.
In addition to Salvation Army-run camps, Scotian Glen hosts camps for the Nova Scotia Cancer Society and the Nova Scotia Firefighters Burn Treatment Society.
If you are interested in sending your child (ages 7-12) to one of our camps this summer, please make contact with your local Salvation Army Community and Family Services office for an application.
Scotian Glen is funded by The Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal. To support Red Shield, please click here.
