During the Christmas season, The Salvation Army distributes a lot of toys. These toys end up under the trees of children in need in the Maritimes. But none of it would be possible without the generous contributions of our donors.

One such donation that occurred in the lead-up to Christmas came from Bruce Towler, an investment advisor and portfolio manager at CIBC Wood Gundy. Towler drove out to our toy warehouse with members of our team and dropped off a load of new toys that he had purchased, worth $1,000, to be distributed this Christmas.

In addition to the load of toys, Towler also dropped off a $5,000 donation from the CIBC Children’s Foundation. The donation was collected during CIBC’s Miracle Day, where on the first Wednesday of December, CIBC advisors donate their fees and commissions to help children in need.

A big thank-you to Bruce Towler and CIBC, as well as to everyone who donated toys, gift cards or funds over the past several weeks. From a single donation at a toy drive, to a truck-load delivered to our warehouse, all of these donations help ensure a Merry Christmas for as many Maritimers in need as possible.
