On August 25th took place the annual Back to School event, organized by The Salvation Army Community and Family Services (CFS). More than 700 children from underprivileged families of Greater Montreal received a personalized brand-new backpack filled with school supplies.

We know that children who start the school year with the necessary tools are more driven to succeed and build relationships with their pairs.

This event was made possible thanks to the efforts and generosity of several partners, notably Fondation J.A. DeSève and Fondation Lipkus. We would also like to thank Telus which made available to the CFS volunteers from the company, as well as Pharmaprix Guy-Concordia and the Rotary Club.

We would like to thank in particular clown Marie Popette, who has shown great generosity by providing animation and wonderful balloon sculptures to children.

Although some families had participated to previous Back to School events, some other discovered the precious resources available to them. Year after year, more families can be part of this event since the CFS team redouble their efforts to distribute more backpacks and school supplies to needy families.

Once again, thank you to all the volunteers, donors and employees who made this event a great success and a source of happiness for so many families.
