On Thursday, August 13, 2015, the seventh game of the Montreal Alouettes was held at the Percival Molson Memorial Stadium.  On this occasion, Telus generously offered a loge to The Salvation Army with the proposal that we invite some clients from our Family and Community Services.

Among those invited were Mellanie and her parents, Colombians who have been using the services of the Family and Community Services for more than a year, receiving guidance for a "more successful" integration into Quebec society.  A young immigrant couple, who just arrived from Venezuela the day before, were also invited. They have been able to live their first typically Montreal event, meet Mellanie’s family and discuss with them their own personal experiences of their arrival in Québec. The Family and Community Services also invited Bob, a former homeless man, who now spends his days volunteering at The Salvation Army, who have become his second family.

Once again, Telus demonstrated their support and commitment to the community. In addition to allowing the Family and Community Service clients to spend a wonderful evening at the football game, they also presented a check for $ 1,000 to The Salvation Army.  It is important to note that next week, a team of dedicated volunteers will give of their time in the preparation of backpacks and school supplies. These will then be distributed to children during The Salvation Army’s "Back to School" event on August 25th.

Again, thank you Telus for your continued support.
