BRANDON, MB –  Volunteers and well wishers were at The Salvation Army in Brandon on Tuesday, November 14 to kick off the 2017 Christmas Kettle Campaign .  The 2017 goal for Brandon and its surrounding area is $70,000.

“Money raised during our Kettle Campaign goes toward helping to purchase items for the Christmas hampers” said Lieutenant Kaitlin Adlam, Corps Officer and Community Ministries Officer for The Salvation Army in Brandon.  “Once Christmas is taken care of, that money goes toward supporting our food bank and our other community support programs throughout the year”.

There are seven kettle locations throughout Brandon, which will be handled by volunteers, and run through to the afternoon on Saturday, December 23.

The Kettle Campaign in Brandon utilizes 50 to 60 volunteers.  Service Clubs, various other city clubs, and faithful year-to-year individual volunteers help in making the campaign a success each year, however one kettle coordinator noted there are still locations within Brandon that could use a few more volunteers.
