The Salvation Army Continues to Assist Flood Victims

    After the torrential rainfall at the end of June, Saskatchewan continues to be devastated by flooding in the southern region. The Salvation Army continues to support the affected communities and work with other emergency disaster agencies.

    To date there have been a total of 450 volunteer hours, approximately 6000 lbs of water, 550 meals, 170 snacks as well as counselling to those emotionally affected by the floods.

     

    The Salvation Army is assisting in the following locations:

    Carduff Recovery Centre

    Donations Management

    Assisting since July 8th, no longer at this location

    Melfort

    James Smith First Nation – Feeding of evacuees 20 – 25 people twice daily

    *Present July 8th, no longer at this location

     

    Melville Recovery Centre

    Feeding volunteers and management staff

    Feeding 20 – 25 volunteers and management staff during weekdays; 95 people on weekends

    Assisting since July 9th

     

    Grenfell Recovery Centre

    Provide emotional and spiritual care

    *Present July 11th & 12th, no longer at this location

     

    Moosomin

    Provide emotional and spiritual care

    Cleaning out of basements

    *Present July 11th & 12th, no longer at this location

     

    Balcarres Recover Centre

    Provide emotional and spiritual care

    Assisting since July 16th

     

    Yorkton Recovery Centre

    Provide emotional and spiritual care

    Starting July 18th
