On Wednesday, September 3rd a family of 6 in Belmont, Ontario lost everything in a devastating fire. The fire burned as family waited at a London hospital with their 13 year old son who was having major surgery to remove a tumor.

Following the fire, personnel from The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services received information that the family was looking for a trailer or motor home to use temporarily so that they could still work on their farm. In response EDS volunteers stocked a newly donated Recreational Vehicle and delivered it to the family to use until more suitable accommodations can be found.

“This is the first time this RV has been deployed and we can not think of a better way to fulfill our mandate to give hope”, says Divisional Emergency Disaster Services Director, Perron Goodyear.
