The Peewee B Bears hockey team from Smith Falls is one of the top three finalists in the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup!

The teams have won a total of $5,000 to the charity of their choice, as well as prize packages for the players.  The PeeWee B Bears have chosen to donate their time and donation to The Salvation Army Mississippi Rideau Lakes Corps.

The Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup is all about giving back to the community and working together off the ice. These community-minded 11 to 12-year-olds helped their local Salvation Army pack Christmas hampers, stuff envelopes, attend Christmas Kettles and serve at The Salvation Army Community Christmas Dinner. The team also held food drives to help fill our food bank shelves.

“The Salvation Army would like to thank the team and the community for their generosity and for voting for the PeeWee Bears and all the teams who graciously gave their time to so many wonderful causes,” said Salvation Army Major Gerald Reilly, “Their donated funds will be used to send more kids to Salvation Army summer camps where they can enjoy the outdoors, meet new friends and build skills and confidence.”

The Salvation Army thanks Chevrolet for developing this initiative, which helps build teamwork and encourages our youth to do good deeds in our communities.

The winner will be announced on February 26th, 2018 and will be chosen by Hockey Ambassadors who will be watching the community support behind the team.  The winner will be awarded $15,000 to their charity of choice. Show your support for the team using hashtag #GoodDeedsCup.
