After giving birth to her second child, Amanda*, Victoria began to have complications with her recovery and what followed was a series of hardships. Soon after Amanda’s birth, Victoria’s husband left. She now had to face the struggles of raising her two young children as a single mother in a new country. Through these tough times, she stayed strong for her family, making sure they had everything they needed. However, the added costs of gifts during Christmas were just not an expense that she could afford. “I don’t have anything after I pay my bills. There are things they want at the grocery store but I can’t always buy them,” she says.

After hearing about Toy Mountain, Victoria registered with the local Salvation Army in her community and went to pick out toys for her son and daughter. “Every time we go to the store, they always ask to look at toys, but we can’t afford any. Every year, we have a Christmas tree but have no gifts under the tree,” says Victoria, “But thanks to Toy Mountain, this will be the first year they will have presents!”

Nobody should be sad during the holidays, and Toy Mountain strives to bring smiles to children’s faces on Christmas. When you donate a new unwrapped toy to Toy Mountain, you are making sure that no child is left out on Christmas morning. “These gifts mean a lot to them. When you see their faces, you can tell that you’ve made a difference,” says Victoria, “I’m very grateful. Our spirits are raised by these acts of kindness”.

There’s only one more day until Toy Mountain’s finale but you can still help. To find out how you can get involved, please visit www.ToyMountainTags.com.
