With less than one week left until Toy Mountain’s finale, we are calling all community members to get involved in this annual Christmas toy drive. In its 22nd year, Toy Mountain spreads Christmas joy to vulnerable families in need. As Toronto remains the child poverty capital of Canada, The Salvation Army in partnership with CTV wants to ensure that every child across the Greater Toronto Area is able to receive a gift on Christmas morning.

For 13 years, Tom Brown, CTV Toronto’s foremost Weather Anchor has lead the Toy Mountain collection efforts, delivering live progress and updates throughout the campaign. “The generosity of our viewers is astounding. Each year, they help us build an even bigger mountain of toys and reach so many families here in Toronto,” said Brown. “What most viewers may not realize is that these donations have a positive impact not only on the children but on the families as well. We hear so many stories of how Toy Mountain has changed someone’s life”.

Toy Mountain is more than just a gift on Christmas morning. For some, it is a glimmer of joy, hope and light during a difficult time. “No child should be left behind, especially during the holidays,” says Neil W. Leduke, The Salvation Army. “Toys collected during this campaign will help local families in need and there’s still time to get involved”.

With only five days left, we are just pass our half way mark of our goal of collecting 150,000 new unwrapped toys and we need your help! The best part is that it’s easy to partake in Toy Mountain, and there are countless of ways to help. You can drop off an unwrapped toy to a drop-off bin, host your own toy drive, or make a monetary donation online or via mail to The Salvation Army, 1645 Warden Avenue, Toronto ON  M1R5B3. Get involved this year and become a TOY MOUNTAINEER!
