Every year, a group of women attend Scotian Glen Camp for a women’s retreat to reconnect with nature, and connect with others in their community.

Hosted by The Salvation Army Women’s Ministry, the theme of the retreat was Carry the Light of Justice and Mercy. The retreat sought to highlight the many injustices faced by women and girls around the world, and worked to impart how women can help uplift other women through awareness and social justice.

In an effort to offer a bit of warmth for women in need, attendees hand-crafted colourful fleece-lined blankets. The blankets will be distributed to women’s shelters and crisis centres. Five of the blankets will be given to women at Greenfield House, a Salvation Army run halfway house located in Moncton.
