Once again, The Salvation Army is grateful for the support of the Christmas Daddies Telethon and for this ongoing holiday tradition that continues to inspire people to give. The proceeds of more than $455,000 will go a long way to support thousands of children and families providing food and toys at Christmas.

Without a doubt, the impressive CTV Atlantic personalities and talented roster of local musicians play a significant role in inspiring communities across the Maritimes to share at Christmas.

“Our partnership with the Christmas Daddies Telethon is incredible; we are absolutely grateful for this relationship,” said Captain Jamie Locke, Divisional Secretary for Public Relations and Development. “It helps to enable our work and mission to be fulfilled here in the Maritimes not only at Christmas, but also all throughout the year.”

With over 300,000 low-income earners across the Maritimes, a pledge of just $20 makes a significant difference in the lives of many. Watch Serena’s story to hear about what the support of the Christmas Daddies Telethon has meant for her and her family at Christmas.

“For nearly two decades now, we have relied on the good folks at The Salvation Army to provide the services to register and distribute the funds raised from the Christmas Daddies Telethon,” said Roxanne Robinson, Executive Director for Christmas Daddies. “For our volunteers, knowing families are being helped in a meaningful way this holiday season makes the Telethon worthwhile for us.”

Captain Locke adds, “We are privileged to play a role in connecting families with the supports they need. We are also grateful for the dedication and hard work of many volunteers who make the Telethon possible along with the generous contributions of airtime, technical equipment, and resources from CTV and Bell Media.”

The ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DADDIES TELETHON has raised more than $28.5 million in its more than half-century history, with funds supplying food and toys for Maritime families and their children during the holiday season. CTV Atlantic’s partnership with The Salvation Army provides more than 10,000 Maritime children with toys and gifts at Christmas each year. All financial donations are redistributed within their originating geographic area, allowing viewers to donate to neighbours within their own communities.
