    "Everyday I'm shufflin'…"

On December 3, hundreds of runners and walkers braved the chilly Maritime weather to hit the trails for a great cause.

The Santa Shuffle Fun Run and Elf Walk was in full swing in Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John, Halifax and Charlottetown, with participants coming dressed as Rudolph, Santa, the elves, and even a slice of Christmas-morning bacon.

The funds raised through the Santa Shuffle will go towards local community initiatives and provide support to those most in need throughout the year. These funds will also help provide toys for children and food hampers during the Christmas season.

“We had more runners this year than last year,” says Major Ronald Stuckless of the Fredericton Corps. “We also saw an increase in donations. It’s wonderful to have this level of community support for The Salvation Army."

The Santa Shuffle has been a reoccuring event for over a decade in the Maritimes, and 26 years in Canada. This success of this event comes from the support of our national sponsor The Running Room, the dedication of our volunteers, and the generosity of the participants.

Runners in 42 cities across Canada crossed the finish line knowing that every step they took played a role in giving someone a Christmas filled with dignity, compassion and warmth.

The work we do at The Salvation Army would not be possible without your generous support, and for this we thank you.
