When Christmas morning dawns, it will be a little brighter for thousands of children in the Maritimes now that The Salvation Army Christmas support distribution has taken place.

Recently, The Salvation Army distributed food hampers, gifts and gift cards to families in need.

In Halifax, distribution began Tuesday, Dec. 17, and saw nearly 4,000 children receive toys for Christmas morning, and nearly 2,000 families received a Christmas turkey and vouchers to purchase all the trimmings for a festive dinner.

Distribution took place at seven locations in HRM over four days, including Salvation Army churches in Halifax, Fairview, Spryfield, Dartmouth and Sackville, our Community & Family Services at the Halifax Centre of Hope, and partner location City Heights Church in Dartmouth.

A special thank you to our partners Premiere Van Lines, City Mazda and Portland Street Honda for their support of our Christmas distribution.

If you are in need at Christmas or throughout the year, please contact your local Salvation Army location. CLICK HERE for a complete list of locations around the Maritimes.

Merry Christmas to all from The Salvation Army.
