kateKate Booth House is a confidentially located shelter, which provides a safe, caring environment for women and their children fleeing domestic violence.

Residential services and crisis line are offered 24 hours a day throughout the year, to give support and advocacy and help battered women and children regain their self-esteem and rebuild their lives.

Kate Booth House programs include daily counseling to educate women on issues such as parenting, assertiveness, the battering cycle and the dynamics of abuse. Information for skills training and employment resources are also provided. The children's program offers weekly children's group, parent counseling, individual child counseling and children's activities.

In November 2006, Kate Booth House's new facilities were officially opened. This high security building provides 10 bedrooms and shelters for 25 women and children.

Kate Booth House serves all women and children who are victims of abuse regardless of race, colour, religion, marital status, sexual orientation or age. After their departure, Kate Booth house continues to support women and children with follow-up support groups, clothing exchange, house drop-ins, mom's and tot's camp, and a telephone crisis line.
