Hanna has been volunteering at The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Williams Lake for 48 years. This summer, she was forced to evacuate her home and was quickly redirected to Kamloops. Before even settling in, Hanna was ready to lend a hand at the Kamloops Salvation Army Thrift Store. At 80 years young, she helped out during the entire evacuation, 6 days a week, from 10am-4pm daily organizing hangers, straightening bags, packaging toys, and grouping items to sell.

“She is such a wonderful joy to have at our store,” says Major Paul Trickett.

With only an hour notice, Hanna said her good byes and finished up at the store before heading back to Williams Lake once the ban was lifted.

“We all shed tears wishing her farewell,” says Major Paul Trickett.

Upon leaving, Hanna promised to come back and volunteer when she comes to town to visit her daughter.
