The gardening club at the Salvation Army Vancouver Community & Family Services are such a dedicated and energetic group that garden rain or shine!

This group meets every Thursday from 11am to 12pm to work at their community garden which is located at Robson Parks. The gardening club is open to everyone in the community and gardening experience is not necessary.

During each session we will go over what we will be planting, the instructions, then the tasks, and then as a group we walk together to work in our garden. In our garden we have planted a variety of vegetables such as potatoes, tomatoes, zucchini, green onions, carrots, cabbage, radishes, and cucumbers. Also, herbs such as mint and basil have also been planted.

The gardening group has planted some goji berries and even some marigold flowers. Many of the plants have started growing and members are getting so excited about the garden’s growth and are looking forward to eating what has grown. The gardening group is a very hard working group and really care about the garden and the members, they have even signed up to come and water the garden on other days of the week.
