For 28 years, the Women’s Charity Committee has chosen The Salvation Army Kate Booth House as the sole beneficiary of their annual charity golf tournament, held at the exclusive Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club.

This year’s event featured a teddy bear theme wherein each golfer was encouraged to bring a teddy bear, and/or purchase a “Warm Buddy” bear, with proceeds of sales going to support the programs and supportive services found at Kate Booth House. This theme especially resonates with The Salvation Army as teddy bears are important friends to those to enter the doors at Kate Booth House as each child in residence receives a bear to hug and keep.

This year the event raised $54,000 and totalling over the 28 years, an overwhelming 1.6 million. A sincere and heartfelt thank you for the 28 years of dedicated support from Shaughnessy Women’s Charity Committee!
