This Thursday, January 30th, Leah Goldstein will MC the inaugural A Bout To Change event.  The event will feature Olympic Style female boxers from across Canada who believe that all women and children deserve a safe place to live.
A Bout To Change will support the important work of YWCA Metro Vancouver, The Salvation Army and the Bloom Group, three organizations that are committed to providing safe housing for women and children offering an array of accessible housing options. Please join me in supporting these organizations by attending this inaugural charity fundraiser.

Safe and accessible housing is critical in enabling vulnerable women and children to live free from violence, giving them the opportunity to make positive choices for themselves and their families.

A significant barrier for women to leave abusive relationships is the lack of affordable housing. Together these charities offer a range of support options for women who seek assistance in escaping abusive relationships.  From emergency shelters operated by the Bloom Group, to recovery and restoration homes provided by the Salvation Army to long-term affordable housing options provided by the YWCA. This is the first time these three charities have come together under one banner and this event represents a significant opportunity to help women get out, get safe and move forward.

Boxing BC is pleased to donate all proceeds from this event to these charities. A Bout To Change will be held at the Croatian Cultural Centre on January 30th, 2014. Boxing BC and Boxing Canada will bring a collection of their best athletes to inspire our community to end violence against women by supporting safe and accessible housing for women. Throughout the evening, you will hear inspiring stories from women helped by the charities and learn how they have been able to build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
