This Sunday, October 20th will mark the Annual Thanksgiving meal that will be served to well over a thousand residents of Vancouver’s Downtown Lower Eastside community through The Salvation Army Vancouver Harbour Light.

The menu will include a full turkey meal including cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, a variety of fresh vegetables, buns, fresh fruit, pumpkin and apple pie with whipped cream as well as hot tea and juice.

“We look forward to welcoming our community to share a meal together. We have had an incredible response from volunteers in support of the meal and the spirit of Thanksgiving is evident in Vancouver,” shares Executive Director, Major Judy Regemay.

This marks not only a much anticipated tradition but also, embraces the true meaning and sentiment shared during this time of year, in helping those in need by restoring a sense of dignity, appreciation and hope.   This year, The Salvation Army Vancouver Harbour Light celebrates 60 years of reaching out to hurting people and helping them to become productive contributing citizens.
