After seven years and 38 days as Director of Music, navy Lieut. Rob Byrne will relinquish command of the Royal Canadian Navy’s Naden Band of Maritime Forces Pacific.

Lieut. Byrne was appointed Music Director on Aug. 27, 2004.  He is retiring from the Canadian Forces and will pass the baton to Sub-Lieut. Mathew Clark a Canadian Forces musician since 1994 who comes to the Naden Band from Borden, Ont. where he supervised the leadership development of the instructors at the Music Training Cadre.

“To lead the Naden Band of Maritime Forces Pacific for the past seven years has been a great privilege and a highlight of my 30 years in the Canadian Forces,” said Lieut. Byrne.  “I am particularly proud to have been part of the Canadian Naval Centennial celebration.  The support we have received in Victoria and throughout Western Canada has been phenomenal.”

We look forward to collaborating again with The Naden Band for this year’s Christmas Concert happening December 8th in Vancouver and Dec 12th in Victoria.
