Tournament of Hope

July 13th, 2011 marked the 6th Annual Tournament of Hope taking place at Redwoods Golf Course in Langley, British Columbia.  The Salvation Army hosted event is set out to support The Gateway of Hope – established in 2009 – and their respective programs and services which work to serve those in the community of Langley.

The full BBQ lunch was created and prepared by Gateway of Hope Cook’s Training students.   Further on, the day saw the course filled with Gateway of Hope volunteers and community partners who were eager to greet the 60 men and women who came to show support for the work being done.

The day came to a close with an incredible catered meal by Redwoods and fellowship of the Gateway of Hope’s supporters.  The highlight of the evening was with respect to the honour of hearing from Tyler Weatherup, a participant and resident at The Gateway of Hope as he shared how through his stay at The Gateway “it helped him become well.” 

The 6th Annual Tournament of Hope was a great success as just over $14,000 was raised for The Gateway of Hope Centre.
