Kelvin Leung of Richmond, British Columbia organized the first, Hoops for Hospice Basketball Tournament

This event was inspired by Kelvin’s Grandparents whom both spent time at The Salvation Army Rotary Richmond Hospice.  Kelvin shared, “The two patients who went through the hospice meant the world to me and that was enough motivation in itself. My initial plan was to have a small fund raiser to give back to the hospice.”

Ultimately, through his hard work and the support of his family and friends, specifically his long time friend, Christopher Ang, they were able to raise enough money to purchase a brand new shower tilt chair for the hospice.

The Salvation Army would like to THANK Kelvin and Christopher for their support and enthusiasm in giving back to the hospice as this new piece of equipment will make the lives of many clients much easier in the years to come.

“I shall pass through this life but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it. For I shall never pass this way again.”  Etienne de Grellet
