Every September, single-parent and low-income families struggle to equip their children for a new school year. Each year, The Salvation Army supports these families by distributing donated school supplies. Given the current economic downturn, The Salvation Army anticipates an increase in demand for this service.

For the entire month of July & August, 102 Starbucks locations in the Vancouver Area, a number of participating Staples locations in Greater Vancouver, and all Fitness Town locations will be supporting kids in need, through The Salvation Army.

Participating Starbucks & Fitness Town locations will be collecting school supplies and backpacks for the fall! Participating Staples locations are collecting financial donations that will purchase further school supplies for Vancouver kids that need our help!

“We’ve seen a real increase of families in need of our support as a result of the current economic climate,” said Major Brian Venables, Salvation Army spokesperson. “The downturn has emptied parent’s pockets. They need your support to ensure that their kids are well equipped with supplies to succeed in school.”

Equip a child with the tools they need to succeed in school, and make a difference in a child’s life today.
