Torontonians Turn Old Jeans In to Support The Salvation Army

Even an old pair of jeans can make a difference in someone’s life.

From April 22 to April 24, Torontonians can recycle their gently-used jeans at 10 Dundas East, a retail, office and entertainment complex in the heart of the city, in exchange for a FREE $10 voucher for the food court on the third floor inside the building.

The event, ‘Turn Your Old Jeans Into Fresh Greens’, is being hosted by Bentall Kennedy, the management company for 10 Dundas East. The initiative is geared to get the public thinking of ways to recycle and reuse, and give back to the community.The goal is to collect 100 pairs of jeans, which will be donated to The Salvation Army.

“The event is ideal with the launch of Earth Week,” says Jessica Kim, Marketing and Administrative Coordinator. “And we want to tie in the idea of recycling with donation. We share in the Army’s mission to help local communities and that gently used jeans could provide warmth to someone less fortunate.”
