(September 25th) The St. John’s Northwest Rotary Club, in cooperation with The Telegram, Prince of Wales Collegiate and students from surrounding schools, sponsored a food drive for The Salvation Army Food Bank.

Donations are helping ensure that the shelves at The Salvation Army food bank are filled and people who come for help are provided with the assistance they need.

The Salvation Army Food bank in St. John’s has seen over a 50% increase in the number of families served during this year.

“There has been a marked increase in the number of families and new Canadians who are coming to The Salvation Army for assistance and food drives such as this go a long way in Helping The Salvation Army Help Others.”, says Major Ken Percy, Family Services Officer.
