Since a flash flood hit Yorkton, Saskatchewan, on Thursday July 1, The Salvation Army has had emergency relief teams in place.

Captain Les Marshall, Divisional Secretary for Public Relations & Development, says the damage is extensive, with about 30 homes written off, and another hundred badly damaged.

The Salvation Army has provided food, clothing, and other essentials, as well as clean-up kits, and spiritual and emotional care to more than 250 people. Salvation Army emergency personnel will carry out their work as long as necessary.
