A fire broke out at a townhouse complex in Sutton, Ont., just over an hour northeast of Toronto, forcing more than 100 people out of their homes early Monday.

Salvation Army personnel were immediately on the scene providing refreshments and support.

Emergency efforts are being coordinated by The Salvation Army through the Sutton Youth Shelter at 20898 Dalton Rd., where donations of food, clothing and personal items will be accepted.

The residents will likely be displaced for some time. Some families have lost everything.
