Role Overview

Using Microsoft technologies and Object Oriented design concepts, this position will play an important role in the ongoing creation and enhancement of system solutions, within a Windows server environment. Working with various stakeholders the incumbent will design/code/implement software solutions, develop integrations with internal/external solutions (ie. Vendor/Saas) as well as lead/support the development of standards, best practices and methodologies and provide support to the maintenance of existing applications.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Work with Project Management, Architects, Business Systems Analysts and others to develop detailed solutions, estimates, and project plans in support of business priorities.
  • Liaise with IT and business partners to analyze problems and develop solution specifications.
  • Lead and work collaboratively with team members to formulate effective designs, code and unit tests for new and existing system solutions.
  • Work as the technical lead developer to manage technical requirements of medium sized projects, ensuring project requirements are met on-time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with and provide oversight to peers including formal/informal design and code reviews.
  • Ensure architecture and design principles and best practices are adhered to during the design and development of solutions.
  • Integrate vendor solutions and interfaces within the internal environment as required.
  • Lead and/or support initiatives to develop and improve standards, best practices and methodologies.
  • Lead and/or support initiatives to define code/release management procedures as well as the introduction of automated tool(s).
  • Apply technical and business knowledge to identify, analyze and solve problems
  • Provide production support to assigned applications (not overnight or 24/7).
  • Coach, mentor and train other team members with the ability to delegate structured assignments and monitor progress.



  • C# development experience building web applications using the .NET framework (v3.5 / v4.5) and Web Forms
  • Working knowledge of web technologies, specifically ASP.Net, HTML/HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, AJAX, CSS, Bootstrap, cross-browser compatibility
  • Understanding and use of software design patterns, n-tier design architecture and Responsive Web Design
  • Experience using ASP.Net development frameworks (Entity framework/ Web API framework)
  • Experience with SOAP and RESTful Web Services
  • Understanding of and experience with object oriented programming and development best practices
  • Strong understanding and use of code/release management practices and version control tools
  • Microsoft Visual Studio (2008 or higher)
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or higher (T-SQL, Querying)
  • Crystal Reports
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices and certification
  • Computer science or related degree from an accredited program

The following Skills would be considered an asset:

  • Practical use of TFS
  • Telerik Development Tools (User Controls and Reports)
  • EPPlus/Fusioncharts
  • Experience using an Agile/Scrum or other accelerated development methodology
  • SQL Server Integration Services
  • Mobile application development
  • UX Design
  • LINQ
  • Communication abilities in French


  • Minimum 7 - 10 years in a structured systems development environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing and implementing front-end web solutions as well as system interfaces to vendor and/or SaaS solutions.
  • Experience and familiarity with adaptive/responsive design.
  • Proven experience in leading other technical resources on medium sized projects within a geographically dispersed team.
  • Demonstrated experience in using and adhering to a Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodology.
  • Solid understanding of application design, relational database and object oriented principles and their application in developing solutions.
  • Good understanding and experience with formal IT project methodologies, processes and practices.
