For the third year in a row, Thrift Stores in Canada collected funds in-store to help send marginalized children to camp for one week. The 2012 Send a Kid to Camp fundraiser ran from April 2 to May 12.

Thanks to the generous support of guests, sponsors and others, funds raised will send 445 kids to camp. The numbers have more than doubled from last year.

With more than 200 nationally and locally operated thrift stores from coast to coast, the Salvation Army operates one of Canada’s largest national clothing recycling operations.
