This month, residents of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, can donate to help their community and upgrade their wardrobe at no cost, thanks to a unique shopping event being hosted by Mic Mac Mall.

From July 19 through to July 29th, Mic Mac Mall, located at 21 MicMac Blvd., will be hosting the Big Scale Summer Sale Event and shoppers are invited to bring their gently-used clothing and have them weighed in order to receive gift cards corresponding to the weight of their donation.

Michaela Atkinson, Marketing Representative at Mic Mac Mall, said this is the first year for the campaign which was initiated to benefit their customers and the community at large.

“We wanted to partner with the Salvation Army for this event because it is such an active charity organization within our community. We always like to support this organization especially at Christmas time with its annual collections.”

Michaela says although the mall does not have a specific goal for the campaign, they hope to receive as much as possible to be able to pass on to The Salvation Army.

Shoppers who donate clothing at the mall will also receive a Thrift Store $5 OFF coupon.
