Mayor Rob Ford on behalf of Toronto City Council has proclaimed December 19-26, 2011 as “Salvation Army Week” in the City of Toronto. Mayor Rob Ford encourages everyone to support The Salvation Army this holiday season.

“The holiday season is an important time for the Salvation Army as its annual Christmas Kettle campaign gets underway to raise funds to help men, women, families and children in need,” says Mayor Ford. “There are more than 350 Christmas Kettle locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area, all in an effort to meet the organization’s goal of raising $3 million.”

The Salvation Army flag raising will take place at Toronto City Hall on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 10:30am. The Salvation Army Christmas Brass Ensemble and Salvation Army Spokesperson Major John Murray will be on hand to proclaim Salvation Army Week.
