Mug Up for HOPE is a new fundraising event that benefits The Salvation Army’s “Send a Kid to Camp” program during summer at Camp Starrigan.

Join us at Emera Innovation Exchange on May 15, 2023, at noon for a cozy, informal gathering with our supporters and community partners as we network and learn more about the benefits of getting out and experiencing nature, all while raising funds for our “Send a Kid to Camp” program.

Our Guest Speaker for the Mug Up for HOPE event is Dr. Chris Patey. Dr. Patey will speak on “Nature Deficiency” and the importance of getting outside. Over the past 15 years, Dr. Patey has practiced as a rural family physician in Carbonear and Upper Island Cove, specifically interested in rural emergency medicine. In his spare time, he is often migrating to the Labrador backcountry salmon fishing & pack rafting for true mental rejuvenation.
