Christmas Kettle Campaign

The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Kettle Campaign begins across the country Thursday, November 13th, and ends on Christmas Eve at noon. Many volunteers are needed to help us reach our goal; can you spare a few hours this Christmas season to volunteer at one of our kettles? How about volunteering with your child, or grandchild? It’s a simple and fun way to introduce charity to youngsters, and teach them about volunteer service, and helping those in need.

    Who can volunteer?
Any person can volunteer at a kettle who is over 16 years of age (for those younger, they must be accompanied by someone over 16). We encourage teams and groups to participate as well. Regular kettle shifts last 3 hours, but maybe your child’s sports team, or dance group would like to be Kettle Ambassadors for a day, and volunteer the whole day at one kettle in shifts?

    Where does the money go?
The money raised in kettles stays local, and funds year-round programs and services provided by Salvation Army Community & Family Services (CFS) units. These programs vary by unit, but can include hot meals, counselling, camps, Christmas toys, food hampers, clothing, tax services, senior’s programs, drop-in centres, and more.

Who can access The Salvation Army’s programs?
The Salvation Army’s programs and services are available to anyone, without discrimination. Please contact your local Salvation Army to see what services are available in your area, or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY.
