The Salvation Army’s annual Red Shield Appeal is taking on a new face this May, starting with Edmonton and Calgary, as we ask you to donate using your cell phone. As a new initiative, and to continue on with The Salvation Army’s tradition of fundraising in May, we’re campaigning with Text-to-Donate over the next 31 days! While our fundraising efforts are charging ahead from the traditional, what hasn’t changed – and never will – is that the funds raised will go to support the programs The Salvation Army offers to help bring hope to the impoverished, helping people overcome addictions, receive emergency food hampers, fund shelters and day cares, camps for kids, senior’s programming, and much more.

You can donate $5 with your cell phone to The Salvation Army’s Red Shield fund – it’s as easy as texting the message hope2001 to 45678 in Edmonton, and hope2000 to 45678 in Calgary. Our goal is to raise $10,000 this May!

Make a $5 text donation during the month of May, and help us Give Hope Today.

You can still contribute if you live in an area other than Edmonton or Calgary, just find your city’s code from the list below and text it to 45678 to make a $5 donation!

So, if you live in Calgary, you would send a text to 45678 (instead of a phone number) with hope2000 (no spaces) as your message. You will get a message back asking to confirm your donation before it goes through – no credit card needed, the $5 is added to your cell phone bill.
