650 men, women and children in Edmonton received a hot turkey dinner with all the trimmings at the Annual Christmas Community Dinner on December 5, 2012. Each year Executive Director, Capt. Mark Stanley, and staff from the Addictions & Residential Centre (ARC) put on the dinner for anyone who would like to attend, and to make sure everyone gets to have a Christmas meal. The dinner also attracts many volunteers from the community – over 40 people helped serve this year, and we couldn’t do it without them!

To create a festive atmosphere during dinner, The Salvation Army’s Edmonton Temple Band played Christmas carols for the guests. And while they were in line outside, The Salvation Army Emergency Services vehicle was on site serving hot chocolate.

We are very grateful to the many volunteers, staff, friends and supporters who helped us Give Hope Today to those who may not have had a Christmas dinner this year – thank-you!
