Sobeys Steps up to Aid Sally Ann

The Salvation Army’s thrift store in south-end Halifax will be joining forces with a neighbouring Sobeys outlet Saturday to host a one-day clothing drive to help the Sally Ann shop recover from fire damage.

A truck and collection workers will be in the grocery store’s Queen Street parking lot from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to accept donations of clothes and housewares.

Humber College Students Create Eye-catching Christmas Window Displays for Salvation Army

For the second year in a row, students from the Humber College Interior Decorating Program will donate their visual merchandising talents to 11 Salvation Army Thrift Stores in the Greater Toronto Area to create festive and eye-catching window displays for the Christmas season.

Salvation Army Thrift Store Opening Attracts Huge Crowds

Howard Olsen was the very first customer of the new Salvation Army Thrift Store in Aldergrove on Saturday morning, purchasing a large piggybank.

There was a huge turnout for the store opening with long line-ups of happy customers at the cash registers. All proceeds from the store will go to the Salvation Army’s Gateway of Hope transition housing in Langley City.
