June 27th was Multiculturalism Day in Canada. This is a great thing as it celebrates our country’s cultural richness and diversity as well as the contributions made by various ethnic groups and communities to Canadian Society.
The Salvation Army works in 111 countries around the world and in Canada, our work reflects that diversity. The Salvation Army exists to meet human need without discrimination and this is expressed through our programs.
True multiculturalism will only come when all barriers such as racism, prejudice and insensitivity are broken down. True success will only be possible when we all respect each other as people.
