The Salvation Army’s Soirée Jazz event was held yesterday evening for the benefit of l’Abri d’espoir. Funds collected during the evening will allow us to help women in difficulty from our shelter.

Thanks to all the participants and sponsors, including Torys, Pharmaprix, CN, Power Corporation, Ivanhoé Cambridge, Grizzard, le Méridien, Hillberg & Berk, Sabire Sirma Saltik and collège Marsan.

Since the late 1800’s, every day in Montreal, women and children are cared for, nurtured and encouraged through the dedicated team at The Salvation Army’s L’Abri d’espoir. Nourishing meals, essential counsel and free hugs are typical for the women as they work through the challenges of life while they gain some hope for a better tomorrow. With YOUR support and attendance tonight it is all possible. We are indebted to you and the wonderful musicians who are giving us a glimpse of their talent this evening.

L’ABRI D’ESPOIR, is a 60-bed shelter for women and their children in crisis. It is open 7 days per week, 24 hours per day and offers a three-phased program that can last up to 2 years. L’Abri’s mission is to help each woman realize her potential for successful, independent living.
