WINNIPEG, MB – Every year, children fall asleep on Christmas Eve in expectation of the arrival of Santa Claus. Unfortunately for many children in Winnipeg, Christmas morning arrives without fulfilling the dreams of stuffed stockings or toys under the Christmas tree.

Winnipeg Police, Winnipeg Firefighters, Scotiabank and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are on a mission to change that by inviting fans to score a Touchdown for Toy Mountain.

“This Saturday at the Winnipeg Blue Bombers game at Investors Group Field, we are accepting donations of cash and new unwrapped toys to make sure each boy and girl can experience the joy of opening a wonderful gift on Christmas morning,” states Mark Young, Executive Director of The Salvation Army Weetamah Centre. “Toy Mountain has set a goal this year to raise 15,000 toys. We believe the fans of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers can give a great boost to these efforts by scoring a touch down for Toy Mountain.”

The greatest football fans in Canada are invited to bring a new unwrapped toy or cash donation in support of Toy Mountain to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers game at Investors Group Field on Saturday, October 25. Volunteers will be on hand to collect these donations in front of the stadium.
