SASKATOON, SK – We all have heard the term “Happy Camper”. This statement couldn’t be truer than at the  2nd Annual Salvation Army Spring Break Camp.  50 children attended a five day camp filled with fun, fellowship and adventure during spring break.

“Providing an opportunity for kids to have something positive, fun and memorable to do during the school break while assisting parents when it is typically hard to find childcare was a need we recognized we could help meet,” explained Major Malba Holliday, Executive Director of The Salvation Army Community Centre.

HDH Architects helped The Salvation Army again this year by fundraising for the Easter Break Camp.  Their pot-luck events raised funds to purchase pillows, pillow protectors, pillow cases and art supplies to decorate the pillows.  Their little spark of kindness put a colossal burst of sunshine into a child’s experience at camp.  The campers had a lot of fun decorating their pillow case. This is the third fundraising event from HDH in the past six months.  The Salvation Army is truly grateful for HDH’s vision to assist those in need.

During summer months, The Salvation Army offers children an exciting vacation in an enchanting country setting. While at camp, children rediscover nature, make new friends, build self-esteem and blossom and grow. There a number of camping options at The Salvation Army Beaver Creek Camp.  These include:

    • Music Camp
    • Adventure Camp
    • Mom n’ Kids Camp
    • Teen Camp
