Saskatoon, SK – It was a Monday like any other until Mr. Peter Rens walked through the door. Peter came to honor his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Jean Rens (nee Muncer), with a donation in her memory.

“May 4th will be one year since her passing,” explained Mr. Rens, “I thought it would be a nice tribute to her and her giving nature. We have always liked how The Salvation Army helps the community.”

As Mr. Rens visited with us, he told us many wonderful stories about his wife, whom he affectionately called “Jeanie”. He spoke about the hard work they shared in running their own business, their many adventures flying, and about their travels throughout the US in their fifth-wheel RV.

Through his stories and fond memories of Jeanie, what really stood out to me was the love they shared. I not only heard this in the words he spoke, I felt them as well. “Jeanie was a wonderful girl, a very good mother,” Mr. Rens shared. “I loved her very much.”

Thank you, Mr. Rens, for brightening our day with your fond memories of Jeanie. We are truly grateful for your generous donation in her memory. Your donation will brighten the lives of those less fortunate in our community and give them hope for a brighter, more successful future.
