Winnipeg, MB – Many a child fall asleep on Christmas Eve after hanging their stockings, waiting for and expecting Santa Claus to fill them with all kinds of Christmas joy. Unfortunately, for many children Christmas morning arrives without fulfilling the dreams of sugar plums, stuffed stockings or toys under the Christmas tree. The Salvation Army, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Scotiabank and Winnipeg Firefighters are on a mission to change that by Filling Our Boots with toys and/or cash donations.

“This Friday at the Winnipeg Blue Bombers game at Canad Inns Stadium, we are accepting donations of new unwrapped toys to make sure each boy and girl can experience the joy of opening a wonderful gift on Christmas morning,” states Mark Young, Ministry Director with The Salvation Army Weetamah Corps. “Unfortunately we need to raise 15,000 toys this year. The need for our response in helping people throughout the year in the many different programs we offer has not decreased and, in fact, some areas are experiencing a dramatic increase.”

The Salvation Army, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Scotiabank and the Winnipeg Firefighters are inviting the greatest football fans in Canada to bring an unwrapped toy in support of this great cause to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers game at Canad Inns Stadium inWinnipegon Friday, October 28th.
