Commissioners Brian and Rosalie Peddle
Territorial Commander and Territorial President of Women’s Ministries
The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory
Commissioner Brian Peddle began his appointment as the leader of The Salvation Army in Canada and Bermuda in July 2011. Commissioner Peddle and his wife, Commissioner Rosalie Peddle have been serving The Salvation Army for the majority of their lives, entering into officership with The Salvation Army in 1975.
Immediately prior to their appointment to the Canada and Bermuda Territory, Brian and Rosalie served as Senior Executive Leaders in the United Kingdom. In the spring of 2011, while serving in England, they chose to “live below the line,” not spending more than £1 a day – for five days – to raise awareness of the nearly 1.4 billion people around the world who are forced to survive everyday on less than £1 a day.
Preceding their time in the United Kingdom, they served as divisional leaders in the Northern Division of the New Zealand, Fiji & Tonga Territory. However, the majority of their career as officers has seen them hold various appointments throughout Canada, including responsibility for the Maritime Division in Halifax, N.S.
Throughout their time as leaders, Brian and Rosalie have both been passionate about coaching, mentoring and empowering Salvation Army personnel. In his current position, Commissioner Brian Peddle is the chief spokesperson for The Salvation Army’s continuing work throughout Canada and Bermuda. Commissioner Peddle can discuss a variety of topics, including:
• Living on £1 a Day
“This level of poverty is unacceptable in a world where many have so much.”
• Poverty and Homelessness
“We understand the need to eradicate extreme poverty in our world … We must continue to educate and inspire the public and work towards a Canada without homelessness.”
• Social Justice
“The world needs to see and hear the true meaning of social justice as people have encounters with the Army.”
• The Salvation Army
“The international Salvation Army has a huge responsibility in serving the world.”
Commissioner Brian Peddle is available for media interviews, speaking engagements and other appearances.
