On November 13, 2017, please join The Salvation Army of Windsor for our third annual Hope in the City Luncheon, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918), at the Giovanni Caboto Club.
This luncheon event provides an opportunity for attendees to network with like-minded community and business leaders, to learn about the support opportunities available and how they can collaborate with The Salvation Army in bringing vital services to people in need in Windsor and area.
Our special guest speaker is former Detroit Lions Quarterback Eric Hipple
Since his 15-year-old son Jeff’s suicide in 2000, former Detroit Lions Quarterback Eric Hipple has devoted his life to building awareness and breaking down the stigma surrounding depressive illnesses. He has received prestigious awards for his work, including the Detroit Lions 2010 Courage House award, the 2008 Life Saver Achievement award given by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and a presidential citation at the American Psychological Association’s 2006 Annual Convention for his six years of national community-based work combating adolescent depression and suicide prevention. His message of resilience has provided mental fitness awareness to professional groups, military, law enforcement, schools, communities, and through the “Under the Helmet” program, thousands of high schools and youth coaches across the country.
Master of Ceremonies
Also joining us as Master of Ceremonies is Jim Crichton.
He is Senior News Anchor at CTV in Windsor and a trusted face in local news. Jim has been a member of both Halifax and Windsor Advisory Boards for The Salvation Army.
