“Salvation Army Night” at the London Majors Game

The Salvation Army of London was honoured to partner with local Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) team, the London Majors, for "Salvation Army Night" on Saturday, June 18, 2016.  Tickets were sold in advance for $8 with 50% from all sales being donated back to The Salvation Army.

Salvation Army mascot, Sally Ann, threw out the ceremonial first pitch and a Salvation Army band played the National Anthem prior to the game. In addition, local Salvation Army young person, Brady Clarke was the honourary bat boy.

Event partners included radio station Classic Rock FREE 98-1, Rogers TV London, as well as Team Purple Squirrel Real Estate.  Chris Mavrikkou of Team Purple Squirrel presented a cheque to The Salvation Army from proceeds of their "Selfies with the Squirrel" as well as cookie sales.

All proceeds from "Salvation Army Night" are being directed to assist with The Salvation Army's relief efforts in Fort McMurray, Alberta after recent wildfires.  In total, more than $1200 was raised.

In the end, the hometown Majors beat the Kitchener Panthers 2-1 ending "Salvation Army Night" by also moving into first place in the IBL.
