It was a beautiful sunny Saturday in Windsor as The Salvation Army’s Community & Family Services hosted a family day event in the parking lot of the Windsor Community & Rehabilitation Centre (WCRC). An estimated 160 people enjoyed games, food, music and fun in the sun.
Major Don Feltham, Executive Director of the WCRC took care of the BBQ where over 350 hot-dogs were prepared. Pop, chips and a garden salad were also served and with the beautiful Windsor weather, ice cream was served throughout the day.
Men from the MAST (Men’s Addiction Support Treatment) program willingly assisted with setting up and cleaning up for the event.
Two of the WCRC residents, George Papadopoulos and Leonard Benoit provided fantastic musical entertainment.
While there were few children present, a number of the men in attendance tapped into their inner child, enjoying games and helium balloons and Mr. Freezies.
A great time was enjoyed by all.
