Brantford Field Exercises

Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) personnel participated in an emergency field exercise with the City of Brantford, County of Brant, Mohawk College, first-responders and other NGO’s on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Brantford Airport. The exercise, which simulated a plane crash involving multiple victims and fatalities, was designed to practice emergency response capabilities and identify areas of improvement.

The EDS team provided hydration services in the staging area as well as at the emergency site. The Hamilton Community Response Unit (CRU) and Divisional Command Unit were on scene along with an EDS team from Brantford.

The training course “Introduction to The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services” is being held in Brantford on Saturday, October 16 to further prepare local personnel to respond to an emergency situation in their community.
