“The Salvation Army is ready to respond, and respond quickly with help in the event of a disaster or an emergency. Dedicated officers, staff and volunteers, like those who assisted at 9/11, compassionately respond to the needs of our community whenever tragedy strikes. Though we pray we never need it, this new Community Response Unit will better equip The Salvation Army, should there be a need” says Perron Goodyear, Divisional Emergency Disaster Director.
As part of the dedication ceremony for the new units, a time of remembrance for those who were affected by the World Trade Centre tragedy will take place. Personnel from The Salvation Army will share memories of the time spent in New York.
The Caravan Event will take place:
London – London Village @ 9:00 am
Hamilton – Bayfront Park @ 12:30 pm
Kitchener – Community Church @ 3:00 pm
